Issued at 7:43 pm Saturday, 23 December 2023.

Severe thunderstorms continuing over the far northern South Australia.

Weather Situation:A trough of low pressure extends from northwest Western Australia to South Australia and Northern Territory border and combines with a hot and unstable air mass to produce severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts over the North West Pastoral district. A southerly surge associated with the trough is also enhancing thunderstorm activity. Thunderstorm complexes are moving generally towards the northeast and may ease over the next 1 to 2 hours.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging wind gusts in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Marla and Dalhousie Springs.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
