Damaging wind gusts likely around a southerly wind change on Thursday afternoon and evening.

Weather Situation: Strong and gusty winds are expected to develop with and for a period following a southerly wind change during late Thursday afternoon. The change initially strengthens in the far south of the warning area, south of Leigh Creek in the late afternoon, and then moves north into the North East Pastoral district during Thursday evening and early Friday morning.

Winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are likely with and for a period following the southerly wind change as it moves north through the warning area during the afternoon and evening.

Winds will ease through the far southern parts of the warning area during the evening, but will continue in central and northern parts of the North East Pastoral district into early Friday morning.

Locations which may be affected include Roxby Downs, Leigh Creek, Marree, Hawker, Woomera and Arkaroola.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
