Emergency Warning - Bills Crossing Crowdy (Mid-Coast LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the Crowdy Bay National Park area. The fire has burnt more than 2000 hectares and is not under control.

Current Situation

The fire is burning in the Crowdy Bay National Park and has burnt more than 2000 hectares.

The fire is burning northerly direction towards Crowdy Head.

The fire is also spreading towards the Harrington area.

Firefighters and aircraft are working in the area to protect home.

Crowdy Head Road is closed.

Advice

If you are in the areas of Crowdy Head or Harrington, monitor conditions.

Seek shelter if the fire impacts and protect yourself from the heat of the fire.

Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. Leaving early is your safest option.

Diamond Head camping area is closed.

Kylies Beach is currently closed.

Other Information

Evacuation Centres have been opened in Club Taree (121 Wingham Road Taree) and Tuncurry Bowling Club 21 Parkes Street Tuncurry. People wishing to self evacuate are asked to register online at Register Find Reunite https://register.redcross.org.au/ before attending the evacuation centre. The Centres are open from 0900hrs Friday 8 November.
