Watch and Act - Hillville Rd, Hillville (Mid-Coast LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the area of Hillville, south of Taree, and is spreading quickly. The fire is more than 16,680 hectares in size and is out of control.

Current Situation

The fire is burning in a north and easterly direction in the area of Hillville, south of Taree.

The fire is burning in the Tinonee, Purfleet, Possum Brush, Old Soldiers Road and Diamond Beach areas.

Crews are conducting back burning operations in the area.

People in the area may see an increase in fire activity and smoke due to these back burning operations.

Advice

If you are in the area of Old Bar, Wallabi Point, South Taree, Tallwoods Village, Tinonee, Purfleet, Diamond Beach and Hillville, Possum Brush, put your bush fire survival plan into action. If you do not have a bush fire survival plan, know what you will do if the fire threatens.

If you are in the area of Rainbow Flat and Hallidays Point, continue to monitor conditions.

Evacuation Centres

An evacuation centre is open Sunday 10 November at Old Bar Club - 1 Belford Street, Old Bar.
People are encouraged to register online at Register Find Reunite https://register.redcross.org.au/ before attending evacuation centres.
