Watch and Act - Liberation Trail (includes former Shultz Road Fire, Clarence Valley LGA)

A bush fire is burning to the south west of Grafton. The fire has burnt more than 113,100 hectares and is out of control.

Current Situation

The fire is burning in the Chaelundi State Forest, Ellis State Forest, Cloud Creek State Forest and Marara State Forest south of the Boyd River.

The fire is burning in a north-westerly direction towards Glenreagh and Coutts Crossing.

The fire edge remains west of Schultz Road.

The Liberation Trail fire joined the Shultz Road Fire, Billys Hill Fire, and Muck Road Fire.

Advice

If you are in the area of Glenreagh, Old Glen Innes Road near Chambigne, or Armidale Road, Coutts Crossing, monitor conditions.

Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. Know what you will do if a fire threatens.

Watch out for spot fires which may start ahead of the main fire front.

Evacuation Centres

An evacuation centre is open Sunday 10 November at Grafton Community Centre - 59 Duke Street Grafton.
People are encouraged to register online at Register Find Reunite https://register.redcross.org.au/ before attending evacuation centres.

Worsening weather conditions on Tuesday 12 November 2019 will see areas across the state with severe, extreme and catastrophic fire danger. These are very dangerous conditions. Visit the NSW RFS website for more details.
