Watch and Act - Old Glen Innes Rd, Newton Boyd (Clarence Valley
LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the Old Glen Innes Road, Newton Boyd
area. The fire is currently 16,500 hectares in size and is out of
control.
Current Situation
A fire burning in the Newton Boyd area has crossed the Boyd
River.
The fire has continued to burn in an easterly and north easterly
direction towards Coutts Crossing.
Firefighters are protecting properties on Old Glen Innes Road,
south of Newton Boyd, and around Coutts Crossing.
This fire has now merged with the Liberation Trail fire.
Smoke and embers may affect Dalmorton, Buccurumby, Glens Creek and
Nymboida.
Advice
If you are in area of Newton Boyd, Coutts Crossing and Glenreagh,
monitor conditions and watch out for spot fires.
Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have
a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. Leaving
early is your safest option.
Evacuation Centres and School Closures
- Evacuation centres open today Monday 11 November are: Club
Taree; Wauchope High School ( Wauchope Showground for animals);
Laurieton United Services Club; Kempsey Showground; Kempsey Macleay
RSL Club; Anglican Church Bowraville; Grafton Community Centre;
Coraki Bowling Club; Nimbin Showground. The Evacuation centre at
the Old Bar Club is closed. - People are encouraged to register
online at Register Find Reunite before attending evacuation

Other Information
Worsening weather conditions on Tuesday 12 November 2019 will see
areas across the state with severe, extreme and catastrophic fire
danger. These are very dangerous conditions. Visit the NSW RFS
website for more details.
