Watch and Act - Toorumbee Complex fires (formerly Jacobs Spur and Armidale Road fires, Kempsey LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the Willi Willi area, west of Kempsey. The fire has burnt more than 65,980 hectares and is out of control.

Current Situation

A number of fires have joined in the area around Bellbrook. The Toorumbee Complex fire includes the former Jacobs Spur and Armidale Road fires.

The fire is burning in the area of Bellbrook, Hickeys Creek and Willawarrin on the southern side of the Armidale Road.

The fire has crossed the Macleay River and Armidale Road, and is heading north east towards Millbank.

Easing conditions will assist firefighters with property protection in rural areas.

Advice

If you are in the areas of Bellbrook, Willi Willi, Willawarrin, Hickeys Creek, Temagog, Mungay Creek, Millibank or Carrai Road, monitor conditions. Put your bush fire survival plan into action.

If you do not have a bush fire survival plan, know what you will do if the fire threatens.

Evacuation Centres and School Closures

An evacuation centre is open Sunday 10 November at Kempsey Showground - 19 Sea Street, Kempsey West.
People are encouraged to register online at Register Find Reunite https://register.redcross.org.au/ before attending evacuation centres.

Worsening weather conditions on Tuesday 12 November 2019 will see areas across the state with severe, extreme and catastrophic fire danger. These are very dangerous conditions. Visit the NSW RFS website for more details.
