Weather Situation
Severe fire dangers are forecast for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt forecast district on Thursday.

A surface trough through southwest Queensland will move slowly east for the remainder of today, reaching southeast Queensland by Thursday afternoon. Fresh west to southwesterly winds are expected over the Darling Downs and Granite Belt tomorrow in the wake of the trough.

Gusty thunderstorms, possibly severe, with the potential for cloud to ground lighting strikes may affect the Darling Downs with the passage of the trough.
