Weather Situation
Severe fire dangers are forecast for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt district for the rest of today and on Sunday.

A surface trough will move slowly across southern Queensland during today and on Sunday. Hot, dry and gusty northwesterly winds ahead of the trough, with fresh southwesterly winds behind.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are possible with the passage of the trough. These are more likely through the western Darling Downs today, and through the eastern Darling Downs on Sunday. Little to no rainfall is expected with these storms, and there is potential for dry lightning.
