For people in parts of Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Charleville, Longreach, Quilpie, Isisford, Barcaldine and Blackall.

Locations which may be affected include Richmond, Julia Creek, Kamilaroi Station, Augustus
Downs Station, Lawn Hill and Cloney's Creek.
An 87km/h gust was recorded at Winton at 3.30pm, a 98km/h gust was recorded at
Longreach at 4.35pm, and a 91km/h gust was recorded at Richmond at 7:17pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
