Weather Situation: Very dangerous thunderstorms are redeveloping across the eastern interior and Wide Bay & Burnett.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in the Capricornia and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts. Locations which may be affected include Gladstone, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Goondiwindi, Calliope and Mount Morgan.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce destructive winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett districts. Locations which may be affected include Bundaberg, Biloela, Blackwater, Monto, Eidsvold, Gin Gin, Miriam Vale, Mount Morgan and Seventeen Seventy.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Southeast Coast district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

Wind gust up to 144km/h has been reported at Blackwater at 6:23pm

Earlier Today:

- TORNADO reported at Tansey (northwest of Murgon) around 3:12pm

- Tennis ball size hail (up to 7cm) was reported at Kumbia around midday.

- 4 to 5cm hail reported between Proston and Murgon

- 3 to 5cm hail reported at and near Gympie

- 4 to 5cm hail reported at Yelarbon

- Vast property and vegetation damage across all affected towns

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
