Weather Situation: Destructive winds possible with storms inland from Townsville. Storms have weakened in the Emerald and Blackwater area.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce destructive winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Herbert and Lower Burdekin districts. Locations which may be affected include Charters Towers, Mingela, Dotswood, and Woodstock.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in the Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Highlands and Coalfields and parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts. Locations which may be affected include Emerald, Clermont, Charters Towers, Bowen and Townsville.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central West district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
