For people in parts of Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Longreach, Isisford, Stonehenge, Evesham Station, Aramac and Muttaburra.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Thargomindah, Charleville, Cunnamulla, Quilpie, Tambo and Carnarvon National Park.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West and Central West districts. Locations which may be affected include Julia Creek, Kamilaroi Station and Corfield.

An 87km/h gust was recorded at Winton at 3.30pm, and a 98km/h gust was recorded at Longreach at 4.35pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
