Flood Watch Number: 4

Areas of isolated minor flooding are possible across the Upper Yarra, Bunyip, Latrobe and South Gippsland Rivers catchments during Friday into Saturday.

A cold front will cross Victoria on Friday. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast across the flood watch area during Friday and Saturday.

Catchments are relatively wet following recent rainfall. Rainfall totals of around 20-60mm have been observed across the affected catchments in the 24 hours to 9am Friday.

Rainfall totals of 10-20mm are forecast, with isolated higher totals up to 25mm, on Friday and similar amounts on Saturday. Snow level will fall to around 700m during Friday night.

River rises have been observed in response to the rainfall. Isolated minor flooding may develop across the flood watch area during Friday into Saturday.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Latrobe River
Traralgon Creek
South Gippsland Rivers
Bunyip River and Dandenong Creek
Yarra River to Coldstream

The Bureau of Meteorology is continuing to monitor the situation and will issue catchment specific warnings as required.
