Flood Watch Number: 4

Minor flooding is occurring in the North Esk and Macquarie catchments and with the forecast rainfall additional areas of minor flooding may develop in the North East catchments during Friday and into the weekend.

A vigorous cold front front will cross Tasmania on Saturday morning, bringing a colder southwesterly stream which will continue throughout Sunday and Monday

In the 24 hours to 9am Friday, widespread rainfall totals of 10-35 mm were observed in the north east of the State. Upper catchment areas are relatively wet.

Rainfall totals of 5-15 mm are expected across the north east catchments of Tasmania through to Saturday.

Minor Flood Warnings have been issued for the North Esk and Macquarie Rivers. Additional flood warnings will be issued for other catchments if and when required.

Strong and dangerous flows are possible in small creeks and low-lying areas in locations that receive heavy rainfall.

North Esk River

South Esk River

Macquarie River

Ringarooma River

North Coastal Rivers
