Flood Watch Number: 1

River rises are expected in North East catchments and minor flooding may develop at some locations from early Friday morning.

A series of daily cold fronts, embedded in a northwest to westerly air stream, will cross Tasmania during the remainder of the week and into the weekend.

Upper catchment areas are relatively wet.

Widespread 3-day rainfall totals of 30-50 mm are expected across the north and west of Tasmania through to Saturday, with higher totals up to 80 mm possible in isolated and elevated areas.

River rises are expected in response to the forecast rainfall. Minor flooding may develop in the North Esk and upper South Esk rivers during Friday.

Further catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.

North Esk River
South Esk River
East Coastal Rivers (north of Bicheno)
Ringarooma River
North Coastal Rivers
