Weather Situation:
At 4pm AWST Ex-Tropical Cylone Joyce was estimated to be 55km
north of Paraburdoo moving southwest at 21km/h.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Joyce will continue to move southwest through
southern parts of the Pilbara into northern parts of the Gascoyne
this evening and then towards northern parts of the South West Land
Division on Sunday.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Joyce will continue to weaken as it moves
further inland. It is expected to bring HEAVY RAINFALL that may
lead to FLASH FLOODING. Widespread daily totals of 50 to 80mm are
expected across the warning area, with isolated heavier totals of
up to 130mm possible near the system's centre.
HEAVY RAINFALL that may lead to FLASH FLOODING, and DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS to 100 km/h over the central and southern Pilbara, western
parts of the Interior, the northern Gascoyne and extending into the
central parts of the Gascoyne in the evening.
Heavy rainfall is likely to extend through the southern Gascoyne
and into northern parts of the South West Land Division during
Sunday as the low continues southwest. However, there is still some
uncertainty as to its exact path and therefore where the heaviest
rainfall will be.
Since 9am Saturday Barimunya has recorded 51mm. Widespread falls
of 100mm or more were recorded in Marble Bar and surrounds during
the 24 hours to 9am Saturday.
A Flood Warning has been issued for the De Grey River
Catchment.
A Flood Watch has been issued for the following catchments:
Pilbara Coastal Rivers, Fortescue River, Ashburton River, Gascoyne
Coast Rivers, and Greenough River catchments. For further details

Locations which may be affected include Denham, Geraldton,
Kalbarri, Newman, Paraburdoo and Tom Price.
Conditions will gradually ease from the north as the low moves
southwest.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* If outside find safe shelter away from trees, power lines, storm
water drains and streams.
* Close your curtains and blinds, and stay inside away from
windows.
* Unplug electrical appliances and do not use land line telephones
if there is lightning.
* If boating, swimming or surfing leave the water.
* Be alert and watch for hazards on the road such as fallen power
lines and loose debris.
* Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and
waterways.
* Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
* Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should
always be treated as live.
* Assess your home, car and property for damage.
* If damage has occurred take photos and contact your insurance
company to organise permanent repairs.
* If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly
damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132 500.
