Heavy rainfall approaching the southwestern suburbs

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:40 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near the Gulf waters off Lonsdale. This thunderstorm is moving towards the east. It is forecast to affect Glenelg, Noarlunga and Brighton by 7:40 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
