parts of Southern Tablelands, Riverina, Lower Western, Upper
Western, Snowy Mountains and Central West Slopes and Plains
Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms continue about the interior and the southern
inland.
Weather Situation: An moist and unstable environment ahead of a
front has triggered a line of severe thunderstorms through the
state this evening. These are expected to be short lived but may
bring short periods of heavy rainfall.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may
lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area over
the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include
Canberra, Cooma, Yass, Young, Captains Flat, Queanbeyan, Mount
Ginini, Tidbinbilla and Cabramurra.
31mm of rainfall was recorded at Cabramurra in the 1 hour to
9:32pm.
30 mm of rainfall was recorded at Book Book in the 30 minutes to
8:44 pm.
22 mm of rainfall was recorded at Narrandera in the 30 minutes to
7:30 pm.
24 mm of rainfall was recorded at Cootamundra in the 30 minutes to
6:40 pm.
28 mm of rainfall was recorded at Albury in the 30 minutes to 6:45
pm.
96 km/h wind gust recorded at West Wyalong at 5:05 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines
and drains.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and
balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects
that may be energised, such as fences.
* Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour
Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093)
as shown on your power bill.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest
available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets
indoors as well.
