THE NORTH TROPICAL AND CENTRAL COAST
FURTHER MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN PARTS OF THE
BURDEKIN AND PROSERPINE CATCHMENTS FROM SUNDAY
A tropical low near the northeast tropical coast is combining with
a ridge to enhance onshore winds and drive deep moisture and
enhanced rainfall over the North Tropical Coast, Central Coast and
Burdekin catchments.
Catchments across the Flood Watch area are wet after recent
rainfall and will respond quickly to further rainfall.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast to continue across the
Flood Watch area for the next couple of days.
A Severe Weather Warning is also current for parts of the North
Tropical Coast, Tablelands, Herbert and Lower Burdekin.
River level rises and flooding is occurring across large parts of

enhance flooding in coastal parts of the Flood Watch area.
Further isolation of communities and disruption to transport
routes is possible over the next few days.
