Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Darling Downs and
Granite Belt and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts.

LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL POSSIBLE IN THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS AND
COALFIELDS, WITH HEAVY RAINFALL CONTINUING IN THE SOUTHEAST.
Weather Situation: A low pressure system is currently situated
west of Clermont and will gradually move to the southeast during
today. A trough extends from this low through southeast parts of
the state. Heavy rainfall is expected in the vicinity of the low
and trough through the southeast and adjacent inland districts
during Monday.
FOR THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS AND COALFIELDS: HEAVY RAINFALL which may
lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely. Six-hourly rainfall totals
between 60 and 90 mm are likely. 24-hourly rainfall totals between
100 and 130 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 180 mm
possible. Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND
LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING is also possible, with six-hourly
totals up to 150 mm.
FOR THE SOUTH EAST: HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH
FLOODING is likely over southeastern districts. Six-hourly rainfall
totals between 70 and 120 mm are likely, with isolated totals
around 180 mm possible. 24-hourly rainfall totals between 80 and
140 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 250 mm
possible.
Conditions are expected to ease during early Tuesday
morning.
Various Flood Watches and Flood Warnings are current throughout
Queensland. Separate Severe Thunderstorm Warnings may be current.

Locations which may be affected include Maroochydore, Gympie,
Bundaberg, Gladstone, Emerald, Rockhampton, Clermont and
Kingaroy.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Northern Goldfields
and Upper Flinders and Maranoa and Warrego districts and the
warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
155 mm WAS RECORDED AT BOWEN DOWNS IN THE 6 HOURS TO 3:00
AM.
111 mm was recorded at Brovinia (Cadarga Creek) in the 6 hours to
4:15 am.
122 mm was recorded at Planet Downs in the 6 hours to 3:17
am.
106 mm was recorded at Boondooma in the 6 hours to 1:24 am.
66 mm was recorded at Sapphire (Retreat Creek) in the 1 hour to
12:05 am.
Emergency services advise people to:
* If you have children make sure they are with you or an adult you
trust.
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger
asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes
out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be
identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are
dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has
passed.
