Heavy rainfall continues about the northeast coast, becoming more likely overnight and early tomorrow morning.

Weather Situation: Areas of converging enhanced onshore winds over the north tropical coast may redevelop today, most likely this evening, bringing the risk of heavy rainfall.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING may redevelop about the coast and adjacent inland areas from about Townsville to Yarrabah, becoming more likely this evening and overnight. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 100 to 180 mm are likely, with isolated falls in excess of 220 mm possible.

Locally intense rainfall leading to dangerous and potentially life-threatening flash flooding is considered less likely than previous days, but can't be ruled out completely about the northeast tropical coast, mainly during the early morning.
