Severe thunderstorms about the far west of the state this evening.

Weather situation: A trough and complex low pressure system are initiating severe thunderstorms about the far west of South Australia this evening. Thunderstorms are expected to continue into the night, though the risk of severe thunderstorms starts to ease as the evening progresses.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Nullarbor and Cook.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
