Severe thunderstorms developing in the west and over the Eyre Peninsula this afternoon.

Weather Situation: A cold front is interacting with a moist, unstable airmass to generate severe thunderstorms across the west of the state this afternoon. Damaging winds and large hailstones are expected across the west, but only large hailstones are expected over the Eyre Peninsula. These storms are moving towards the west southwest and will affect areas to the east into the late afternoon and evening.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Cleve, Elliston, Maralinga, Oak Valley, Cook and Cummins.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
