Damaging winds developing across parts of South Australia from late morning.

Weather Situation: A trough of low pressure extending from the northwest to southeast of South Australia will shift towards the north during the day today ahead of a cool change. Very hot and windy conditions are expected on and north of this change.

DAMAGING WINDS from the northwest averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are forecast to develop through the warning area from late morning. Severe thunderstorms developing in the warning area during the afternoon are also likely to bring damaging wind gusts.

Conditions should ease from the south during the afternoon and evening as the cool changes advances northwards, though south to southwesterly winds immediately behind the change may also be very strong and gusty.

Locations which may be affected include Whyalla, Renmark, Port Pirie, Clare, Roxby Downs and Leigh Creek.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
