Damaging winds gusts expected to continue over southern areas today,

Weather Situation: A trough ahead of a complex low in the Bight had brought damaging wind gusts about the southern SA during the night. A cold front will approach the same areas in the morning followed by vigorous southwest to westerly flow with damaging wind gusts becoming widespread across the ranges and exposed coasts in the afternoon.

Strong west to northwesterly winds with possible DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h about southern Mount Lofty Ranges, extending to coastal areas including Adelaide Metro during the morning. Winds will become west to southwesterly and possible DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h over inland areas in the southeast and about the Flinders Ranges during the afternoon.

Winds may drop below damaging thresholds during the evening, before another burst of possible damaging wind gusts moves through the southeast early Wednesday morning.

Winds are forecast to ease throughout by late Wednesday morning or early afternoon.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Naracoorte and Keith.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
