Isolated damaging winds possible until early this afternoon.

Weather Situation: Isolated damaging winds are possible until early this afternoon in the wake of a cold front, mostly with any showers or thunderstorms that develop during this time.

Strong to DAMAGING NORTHWESTERLY WINDS of 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts of around of 100 km/h are possible over parts of the south and northeast of the state this morning.

DAMAGING WINDS are expected to ease below warning thresholds during the early afternoon.

Locations which may be affected include Fingal, Strathgordon, New Norfolk, Bushy Park, Geeveston and Huonville.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Central Plateau district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

126 km/h wind gust was recorded at Kunanyi (Mount Wellington) at 4:00am

101 km/hr wind gust was recorded at Low Rocky Point at 10:30pm

113 km/h wind gust was recorded at Hartz Mountain at 8:06pm

111km/h wind gust was recorded at Scotts Peak Dam at 7:21pm

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving.
