Watch and Act - Bushfire - Leave Now

This Watch and Act message is being issued for Northern Grampians and Dadswells Bridge.

There is a bushfire at Grampians National Park, Mt Stapylton that is not yet under control.
There is currently active fire within the Grampians National Park in the Mt Stapylton area.
The Grampians National Park is closed to visitors.
Do not enter the area - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency services may not be able to help you if you are in the area.

What you should do:
Monitor changes to the situation. Increased wind speed, change in wind direction, smoke or poor visibility can indicate the situation is changing.
Protect yourself and your family.
If you are away from home, do not return.

If the situation changes or you feel unsafe you should leave:
Take your pets, medications, mobile phone and charger.
Many people have died trying to leave at the last minute during fires.
Travel to the home of family or friends that are away from the warning area or Stawell.

Impacts in your area:
Trees can fall across roads and cause dangerous driving conditions.

Road closures:
Check the VicTraffic website (traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au/) or call 13 11 70 for road closures.
Work is currently being undertaken along the Western Highway in the Dadswells Bridge are to clear trees impacted by fire.

Relief Centres are located at Grampians Community Health 8-22 Patrick Street, Stawell and Alexander Oval Community Centre on Waratah Ave, Ararat.
