Flood Watch for the eastern parts of the Interior

FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA

A trough of low pressure is located over southern Northern Territory, assisted by an inflow of humid tropical air will combine to generate widespread moderate to heavy rainfall across eastern parts of interior over the next few days.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are already wet and are likely to respond quickly to additional rainfall.

Forecast rainfall may cause further river and creek level rises, prolonged overland flooding, and ponding. Road access may be affected, and some communities and homesteads may become isolated.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Warburton District Rivers

Sandy Desert(Eastern parts)

Sturt Creek District

Western Desert

Tanami Desert

Flooding is no longer expected in the following catchment(s): Fitzroy, Nth Kimberley and East Kimberley
