Flood Watch Number: 7

FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA

A trough of low pressure over southern Northern Territory, extending into parts of the Interior has generated widespread moderate to heavy rainfall across eastern parts of Interior. The trough has now moved further to the east, however isolated showers and thunderstorms remain possible over the Flood Watch area over the next few days.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are already wet and are likely to respond quickly to additional rainfall.

Forecast rainfall may cause further river and creek level rises, prolonged overland flooding, and ponding. Road access may be affected, and some communities and homesteads may become isolated.

Catchments likely to be affected include:
Sturt Creek District

Western Desert

Tanami Desert

Flooding is no longer expected in the following catchment(s): Warburton District and Sandy Desert
