Flood Watch Number: 4

LOCALISED FLOODING OCCURRING IN PARTS OF KIMBERLEY, WITH FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE

The monsoon trough remains active, with a number of tropical lows being monitored within the trough.

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed in the Kimberley Rivers catchments since Saturday morning. Catchments in the Flood Watch Area are relatively wet from recent rainfall. Localised flooding is occurring in parts of East Kimberley Rivers.

The monsoon trough and tropical low are likely to bring increased rainfall within the Flood Watch Area in the next few days. Further rainfall may cause significant water level rises in rivers and creeks and prolonged overland flooding and ponding and roads may become impassable. Some communities and homesteads may become isolated. Check road conditions before travelling.

Catchments likely to be affected include:
West Kimberley Rivers

North Kimberley Rivers

East Kimberley Rivers

A Moderate Flood warning is current for the Fitzroy River catchment.
