Central West, Lower West, Central Wheat Belt and South East Coastal
districts.

LOCALISED INTENSE RAIN IN PARTS OF THE GREAT SOUTHERN.
Weather Situation: A trough extending from the Lower West through
to the Interior is triggering severe thunderstorms in a moist and
unstable environment. The focus of thunderstorm activity will shift
progressively southeastwards during the day, following the movement
of the low and trough.
VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce heavy, locally
intense rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, large hailstones
and damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the
Great Southern and Central Wheat Belt districts.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones,
damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding
over the next several hours in the Great Southern and parts of the
Goldfields, Central Wheat Belt and South East Coastal districts.
Locations which may be affected include Katanning, Merredin,
Narrogin, Corrigin, Hyden and Lake Grace.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may
lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the
Gascoyne, Central West, Lower West and Central Wheat Belt
districts. Locations which may be affected include Moora,
Dalwallinu, Dowerin, Wongan Hills, Yalgoo and Badgingarra.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the South Coastal
district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

40.6 mm was recorded at Arradale in the 3 hours to 4:15pm.
24.6 mm at Bindi Bindi in the 30 minutes to 3:43 pm.
2-3 cm hail was reported at Merredin around 3pm.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* If outside find safe shelter away from trees, power lines, storm
water drains and streams.
* Close your curtains and blinds, and stay inside away from
windows.
* Unplug electrical appliances and do not use land line telephones
if there is lightning.
* If there is flooding, create your own sandbags by using pillow
cases filled with sand and place them around doorways to protect
your home.
* If boating, swimming or surfing leave the water.
* Do not drive into water of unknown depth and current.
* Slow down and turn your headlights on.
* Be alert and watch for hazards on the road such as fallen power
lines and loose debris.
* If it is raining heavily and you cannot see, pull over and park
with your hazard lights on until the rain clears.
