Heavy rainfall over the North East Pastoral district this weekend and into Monday.

Weather Situation: A humid tropical airmass lies over northern parts of South Australia. Widespread areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms forced by a series of troughs will tap into this moisture, bringing areas of heavy rainfall over the next few days.

Periods of HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING are expected over the weekend about the North East Pastoral district and adjacent parts of the North West Pastoral district. Six-hour rainfall totals between 20 and 50 mm are likely, with localised totals up to 75 mm possible with thunderstorm activity.

Conditions should ease in western parts of the warning area from late Sunday evening, but heavy falls may continue about the northeast during Monday.

Flood warnings are current for the far northeast of the state. Please refer to https://www.bom.gov.au/weather-and-climate/warnings-and-alerts

Flash flooding may make roads impassable through northeastern parts of the state.

Locations which may be affected include Moomba, Oodnadatta, Marree, Dalhousie Springs, Arkaroola and the area east of Lake Frome.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Flinders district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

65 mm of rainfall was recorded at Mount Barry in the 24 hours to 9am on Saturday morning.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water;
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains;
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
