Severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts tracking across the southeast.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 10:45 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds were detected near the area east of Dalby, the area northeast of Dalby and Hatton Vale. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect Mt Mowbullan, Marburg and Lowood by 11:15 pm and Crows Nest, Lake Manchester and Upper Brookfield by 11:45 pm.

109 km/h wind gust recorded at Dalby at 10:16 pm.

107 km/h wind gust recorded at Goondiwindi Airport at 6:26 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
