parts of Western Forecast Districts.

Damaging wind gusts for King Island and parts of central and
northwestern Tasmania today.
A strong northerly flow ahead of an approaching cold front is
expected to produce damaging winds for elevated central and
northwestern parts of the state from this morning, as well as for
King Island and parts of the northwestern coast from this
afternoon. This front will move over Tasmania tonight, clearing the
state during tomorrow.
For elevated parts of CENTRAL AND NORTHWESTERN TASMANIA: Northeast
to northwesterly DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 80 km/h with peak
gusts of 110 km/h are likely throughout today, and will ease below
warning thresholds by Wednesday morning.
For KING ISLAND and parts of the NORTHWEST COAST: Strong
northeasterly to northwesterly winds averaging 50-60 km/h with
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 100 km/h are possible this afternoon,
easing below warning thresholds by Wednesday morning.
Locations which may be affected include Burnie, Currie, Smithton,
Zeehan, Waratah and Rosebery.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Upper Derwent Valley,
Central North and Midlands districts and the warning for these
districts is CANCELLED.
A 107 km/h gust was recorded at Mount Read at 09:57 am.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play
equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to
TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when
driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further
advice.
