Flood Watch Number: 3
MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE IN PARTS OF THE HUNTER AND MID
NORTH COAST FROM MONDAY
A coastal trough is expected to deepen and stall about the Mid
North Coast and Hunter districts through Monday. This trough is
expected to bring multiple days of widespread moderate to heavy
rainfall about central parts of the NSW coast and may cause minor
to moderate flooding from Monday. Isolated major flooding is
possible, but the location will be dependent on where the heaviest
rainfall occurs.
Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively wet.
There is some degree of uncertainty over the exact location and
timing of the heaviest falls. Localised river level rises, and
flash flooding are likely within the areas of heaviest
rainfall.
This weather system has the potential to cause minor to moderate
flooding in the Flood Watch area from Monday, with isolated major
flooding possible with heaviest rainfall. Flood Classes (minor,
moderate, major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau
provides a flood warning service.
A severe weather warning is current for parts of Mid North Coast,
Hunter, North West Slopes and Plains and Northern Tablelands
Forecast Districts.
